I thought I would drop in on my Blog and let everyone know the kids and I are having a great time visiting southern Illinois!
Mom and I stayed up way too late last night getting the potatoe salad ready, and right now the smell of baked beans is causing me to be very hungry! My brother and I spent a few dollars on fireworks which always cause me to have a panic attack when watching grown men play with fire!
Andrew has missed us a lot this time and called a few times everyday! He tells me that it is too quiet at home...and that he is "cleaning" all the time. I let him know yesterday with all the cleaning he is doing I expect it to glow when we walk in the door!
The thunderstorms have been everything I remember and there have been a few nights the kids have been unglued!
We have some great photo's but, right now I am using mom's laptop and it's driving me crazy! I wouldn't dare put the pictures on her's! We have several days left to go on our vacation, but as usual I am ready to be home... This is why I know I won't make a good retired person or empty nester, as I just hate Not Being HOME! As much as I love being here--It isn't home!
I have some pictures of the Court House where Lincoln Spoke in Mt Vernon, and the jail where Charlie Burger was hung... The hanging platform still there, my grandfather used to tell the story of that day and how the whole town came out for a picknic the day of the hanging. We were able to get inside of the Church built by my Great-Great Grandfather...
Anyway that is about all I have time to write about at this moment! Will be home this time next week and doing all I can not to pack today...
Take care everyone and be safe with the fireworks!
