Finally an IEP

It only took one full year of hard work, home schooling, and pitching a fit to finally get the public school to agree to provide our daughter with an IEP! Otherwise known as an Individual Education Plan.

The whole world seemed to recognize the need, teachers from other school districts in our social circle often asked, "What services are written on her IEP?" and the case plan for three different levels of mental health services had obtaining an IEP as a major priority!

Yet, I had to resort to such dramatic measures just for the school to consider evaluations.

Of course, the evaluations simply confirmed exactly what I have been asking for during the months that became a full year!

Anyway, we will have to see how the plan is implemented. Makala has been back at school for three weeks and so far so good!

Jumping in the Middle!

It has taken me a long time to MOVE most of the entries from all the Journals, and different places I have written about the journey of being a RAD Mom!

I am finally at this Year for the updates! Which means very soon I should have most of what there is written all located on this blog!

The new website is going well... we have managed to add some of the features and things we have wanted to add for a long time! Right now Melissa and I are focused on adding as much information as we possibly can to the site--and working on the Book.... s

We are excitied about some of the new features we have added and can't wait to get down with our list of things Adoptive Parents Might find helpful!

I just thought I might pause here and let everyone know This Blog is not dead or forgotten... I have just been moving different posts, notes and information from all over the place in order to get everything in one spot! So I am sort-of BackFilling the Blog.

There has been so many things go on since one year ago--I can't wait to finish 2006 and 2007 before too much more happens and I never catch up!
